Peter Rosenberg (musician)

Peter Rosenberg (born May 1, 1950 in Cluj Napoca as Petru Andrei Rosenberg ) is a German violinist, concertmaster and violin teacher.

Life

Peter Rosenberg was born in Klausenburg (Cluj Napoca) / Romania . From 1982 to 2015 he was first concertmaster of the Bamberg Symphony . He studied at the Rubin Music Academy in Tel Aviv / Israel with Alice Feynes and at the NWD Music Academy Detmold with Tibor Varga . He finished his studies with Saschko Gawriloff at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen with the concert exam.

Peter Rosenberg is the winner of numerous competitions such as the German Music Competition Bonn and the ARD Music Competition Munich 1970 in the category Duo Violin / Piano with his brother Gabriel Rosenberg.

As early as 1974, he was active as a teacher with a teaching position at the NWD Music Academy Detmold and the Berlin University of the Arts. From 1993 to 1998, in addition to his position as concert master with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, he was professor for violin and chamber music at the University of Music Cologne, Aachen department.

Peter Rosenberg has given concerts in Germany, America, China, France, Israel, Romania, Japan, Switzerland, Southeast Asia and South America. He played under conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt , Eugen Jochum , Horst Stein , Carlo Maria Giulini , Giuseppe Sinopoli , Daniele Gatti , Gustavo Dudamel , Andris Nelsons , Ainārs Rubiķis, Robin Ticcati and Jonathan Nott .

Recording activity

Peter Rosenberg has made numerous radio recordings on German broadcasters. A recording of all of Ernst Krenek's violin concertos with the Bamberg Symphony under Florian Merz is available on the Koch Schwann label. This CD was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize.
