from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Rudolf Ryhiner (born January 1, 1920 in Basel ; † February 7, 1975 ) was a Swiss animal catcher and trader.

His parents were Albert Ryhiner (1888–1936) and Christine von Stürler (1897–1987). Enthusiastic about animals since childhood, he went to South America at the age of 25, became a partner of the animal catcher Lothar Behrend and his agent in Africa, India and Southeast Asia. As a result, he built his own business.

In 1964 he invented the game Wild Life .

After new animal protection laws in the course of the 1960s restricted wildlife breeding to zoos, his career took a turn. Most recently he worked as a safari escort in Kenya , returned to Switzerland impoverished and died in 1975 in the Préfargier clinic.

He was married to Monica Tinker and Victoria Rohner.

In the 1990s, Mike Wildbolz (1947–2002) made the documentary Ryhiner's Business .
