Peter Schenk (philologist)

Peter Schenk (* 1953 ) is a German classical philologist .

Life

He was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . The German Research Foundation funded him from 1990 to 1993 with a habilitation grant . Since the Habilitation 1995 and his appointment as lecturer he has been a teacher (1999-2008) and Director of Studies (since 2008) in university teaching at the Institute of Archeology of the University of Cologne operates. In 2001 he was appointed adjunct professor at the Institute for Classical Studies at the University of Cologne.

His main research interests are the Roman biographer Cornelius Nepos , the literature of the Roman Empire and neo-Latin literature (in particular Erasmus of Rotterdam ).
