Peter Schulz (born December 30, 1960 ) is a former German soccer player and coach .

Athletic career

Peter Schulz started playing soccer at TSG Esslingen and then switched to the youth team of the Stuttgarter Kickers . There he was German A youth champion in the 1978/79 season . His teammates included Joachim Müller , Andreas Hägele , Zvonko Kurbos , Wolfgang Dienelt and the later world champion Guido Buchwald .

In the following years he played, together with some other players of the A youth championship team, in the amateur team of the Stuttgarter Kickers . On September 15, 1979 he made his debut in the professional team at the away game of Kickers against Freiburg FC . However, he could not earn a regular place and was mainly used by the amateurs. After his time with the Kickers, Peter Schulz was active in the top amateur class in Stuttgart. In 1986 he took over the position of player-coach at his home club TSG Esslingen . He then moved to Switzerland, where he worked in the same role for FC Sarnen and played for FC Hergiswil .
