Peter Seppelfricke (born February 22, 1968 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German economist and university professor. His specialty is the analysis and valuation of stocks and companies. He teaches and researches at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences . He is married and lives with his family in Osnabrück.

Live and act

Peter Seppelfricke comes from an entrepreneurial family from the Ruhr area. His grandfather Johann Seppelfricke founded the metal works Gebrüder Seppelfricke , in which his father Aloys Seppelfricke was managing director for many years. His maternal grandfather is Otto Dietrich , Reich Press Chief and State Secretary in the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda . His great-grandfather Theodor Reismann-Grone was editor-in-chief of the "Rheinisch-Westfälische Zeitung" and from 1933 to 1937 mayor of the city of Essen.

Having grown up in Herten-Westerholt , Seppelfricke obtained his Abitur in 1987 at the Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. He then studied economics at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel. After completing his studies, he became a research assistant at the Institute for Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Kiel and received his doctorate with a grant from the German Research Foundation under Gerd Hansen on the subject of “Investing under uncertainty”.

After completing his doctorate, Seppelfricke worked at the private bank MMWarburg & CO in Hamburg, initially as an equity analyst and later as a project manager (authorized signatory) in the bank's corporate finance department. In 2001, at the age of 32, he was appointed to a professorship for finance at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. Since then he has been teaching and researching there, in particular on issues of equity and company valuation. He heads the Master's degree in Controlling & Finance Osnabrück (Master CFO) and regularly organizes the Osnabrück Finance Day . In addition to his university activities, he was head of an asset management company in Düsseldorf for several years. He also advised an equity fund in Munich for several years .
