Gerd Hansen (economist)

Gerd Hansen (born January 1, 1938 in Pansdorf ) is a German economist and statistician . He is professor emeritus for econometrics at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel .

Life

Hansen studied economics at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . After receiving his diploma, Heinz Gollnick graduated from the University of Hamburg as Dr. rer. pole. PhD. In 1971 he completed his habilitation with the work An Econometric Investigation of Selected Consumption Functions for the Federal Republic. Specification, estimate and forecast . From 1972 to 1979 he was a professor as successor to Adolf Blind at the University of Frankfurt am Main . Then he was Professor of Econometrics at the Institute for Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Kiel. In 2003 he retired.

From 1973 to 1980 he was co-editor of the General Statistical Archive and since 1984 of the Statistical Papers . From 1983 to 1987 he was also chairman of the committee for empirical economic research and applied econometrics of the German Statistical Society . Together with Uwe Westphal , he developed the SYSIFO model .

Hansen has been married since 1964.
