Pansdorf is a village in the municipality of Ratekau in the Ostholstein district in Schleswig-Holstein . With around 3500 inhabitants, Pansdorf is the third largest of the 13 villages in the municipality.
geography
Pansdorf is located west of Timmendorfer Strand about five kilometers from the Baltic Sea coast. The Schwartau flows west of the village .
It is a part of the northern season of the northern edge of the northern Hauptendmoräne associated with the so-called southern the Baltic ridge representing forming moraine .
In a north-south direction, the federal motorway 1 runs east of Pansdorf and the Kiel – Lübeck railway line to the west . Pansdorf is connected to this with a train station and motorway junction 17 Pansdorf .
history
Archaeological finds on the Grellberg as well as another, however unnamed, Neolithic burial mound near Pansdorf attest to prehistoric settlement activity in the area. The Rippenziste found in Pansdorf is considered to be one of the earliest evidence of the introduction of runic writing . In the first half of the 19th century, Pansdorf belonged to the Großvogtei office in the Principality of Lübeck , which became part of the Schwartau office in 1843 . For the municipality of West Ratekau , founded in 1856 , Pansdorf became the administrative seat and remained so until 1939 after the merger with East Ratekau .
During the Second World War there were two slave labor detachments in Pansdorf.
In 2001, the municipality took over the sponsorship of the integrated comprehensive school Pansdorf, whose location was relocated to Ratekau in 2008/2009. It was named César Klein School . Pansdorf remained the location of a primary school .
