Peter Skaarup (born May 1, 1964 in Aarhus ) is a Danish politician ( Progress Party , Danish People's Party ). He has been a member of the Folketing for the right-wing populist Danish People's Party (DF) since 1998 and was its deputy parliamentary group chairman until 2012. He has been chairman of the DF group since 2012.

Skaarup grew up in Brabrand , a district of Aarhus. After graduating from school and completing his vocational training, he worked as a technical advisor for the Danish State Railways' travel department . Since 1990 he has been party secretary of the populist-libertarian Photo Step Party . In 1995 he moved to the DF , for which he worked as senior party secretary until his election to the Folketing.
