Peter Storch

Karl Kasper Otto Peter Storch (born January 1, 1924 in Aasiaat ) is a Greenlandic pastor , local politician , teacher and author .

Life

Peter Storch was born as the son of salesman Karl Jonas Benjamin Storch (1894–1979) and his wife Sofie Birthe Mette Inger Svane (1900–1936). On September 9, 1947, he married Dorthe Rebekka Johanne Louise Nielsen (1929–?).

He graduated from Grønland's seminarium in 1944 . At times he was trained in Denmark. He was not ordained until 1971 . He was appointed pastor of Ittoqqortoormiit , moved to Qasigiannguit in 1980 and to Sisimiut in 1999 .

From 1963 to 1970 he sat on the council of the municipality of Aasiaat . From 1964 to 1966 he was the municipal council chairman and thus de facto mayor. He was also a co-judge at the district court in Aasiaat. He is an honorary member of the Atassut .

He also published numerous school books, worked as a teacher for aspiring catechists and gave teaching radio lectures.

On February 20, 2005 he received the Nersornaat in silver.
