Peter J. Uggowitzer

Peter J. Uggowitzer (born November 24, 1950 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian-Swiss metallurgist and materials scientist .

Live and act

Until 1976 he studied materials science at the Montanuniversität Leoben , in 1981 he received his doctorate there in the field of dual-phase steels . He then moved to ETH Zurich , where he completed his habilitation in 1993 and became a professor in 1996 .

His scientific work deals, among other things, with Ni -free austenitic steels , which have found wide application in the medical device and watch industries. He also published works on the aging behavior of Al-Mg-Si alloys and magnesium alloys.

Uggowitzer is married and has three grown children.
