Peter Vadasz

Peter Vadasz (born January 29, 1944 in Bad Hall ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and secondary school teacher. From 1996 to 2005 he was a member of the Burgenland state parliament and from 1992 to 2012 he was mayor of Güssing .

Life

After primary school in Gerersdorf, Vadasz attended secondary school in Güssing and then completed an apprenticeship at the Catholic Teacher Training Institute in Eisenstadt, which he completed in 1963 with the Matura. He then attended State College in Jacksonville (Alabama) between 1963 and 1965 and became a teacher at the Heiligenbrunn elementary school in 1966 . From 1973 to 1995 he was a teacher at the secondary school in Güssing.

politics

Vadasz became involved as a councilor in Güssing in 1982 and became a city councilor in 1987. From 1992 to 2012 he was the mayor of Güssing. He was also district chairman of the ÖAAB-Güssing from 1983 and represented the ÖVP in the state parliament between June 27, 1996 and October 24, 2005.

Awards

  • In 2007, Vadasz was voted “European of the week” by the Arte TV station for his commitment to independent and sustainable energy generation in Güssing.
