Peter Wellmann (politician)

Peter Wellmann (born August 26, 1943 in Perleberg / Westprignitz district , † May 29, 2014 in Husum ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Wellmann attended elementary school and secondary school in Uetersen , did advanced training in the field of construction management at the engineering school in Hamburg , and went to the University of Economics and Politics in Hamburg, where he graduated with a degree in economics. This was followed by a commercial apprenticeship as an industrial clerk specializing in the construction industry, after which he was the commercial manager of large construction sites at various construction companies in Northern Germany. He was also a research assistant on the federal board of IG Bau-Steine-Erden in Frankfurt and personal advisor to the chairman, district chairman and managing director of the German Federation of Trade Unions in North Friesland and a freelance business and management consultant.

In 1969 Wellmann joined the SPD, where he was chairman of the Young Socialists in Uetersen and district chairman in the Pinneberg district , assessor in the district committee of the SPD North Friesland and deputy chairman of the SPD in the Husum local association . He was an accompanying member and district councilor in the Pinneberg district council and chairman of the building committee there, then an accompanying member and district councilor in the North Frisian district council, there member of the district committee and deputy chairman of the committee for economy, transport and tourism as well as an accompanying member of the economy and transport committee of the city of Husum . From 1987 to 1995 Wellmann was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament .
