Peter Westerdijk

Peter Westerdijk (* 1946 ) is a Dutch cultural anthropologist , expert on African weapons and a collector of African art.

He followed the research of his father Heinrich Westerdijk (1914-27 December 2001) who was also an expert on African weapons. From 1971 to 1976 Peter Westerdijk lectured on cultural anthropology at the University of Utrecht . His highly regarded dissertation The African throwing knife. A style analysis from 1988 continues his father's work and defines style provinces as a system of order for African throwing irons .
