Peter Wilde (born March 26, 1939 in Halle (Saale) , † July 12, 2010 in Potsdam ) was a German artist. He mainly worked as a painter with oil and canvas.

Life

Peter Wilde trained as a decorative painter and worked as a painter in Leuna and Buna. From 1958 to 1960 he studied at the technical college for advertising and design in Berlin and Potsdam.

Wilde went through all the equipment departments of the DEFA feature film studio and ultimately worked there as a production designer.

In addition to his work in film, he painted passionately and tirelessly in his private life. Here a work was created that ranges from naive painting to abstract art. Atmospheric landscapes are one of his favorite subjects. A common motif is the Heiligensee near Potsdam, where Peter Wilde lived for a large part of his life.

From 1976 he worked partly in China and Vietnam. His predilection for Asian culture stems from this time. Here the artist spanned a large array of images with many Asian locations and actions, which ends with his last completed painting DIALOG-CHINA BLUE .
