Peter Wirtz (economist)

Peter Wirtz (born September 25, 1971 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German economist.

Life

Peter Wirtz received his intermediate diploma in business administration from the University of Bayreuth in 1993 . He graduated from the École supérieure de commerce de Dijon in 1995 with a degree in finance. In 1996 he completed a Masters in Management Science (DEA) at the University of Burgundy (cum laude). In 2000 he was with the work on the financing of companies in France and Germany at the University of Burgundy in Dijon doctorate . In 2001 he completed his habilitation there. From 2000 to 2003 he worked at the University of Paris II .

Peter Wirtz has been Professor of Management at the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Lyon II since 2003 . He is particularly concerned with corporate finance.

Research focuses on issues of corporate governance in financing and value creation. In addition to numerous articles on economics, he and Gerard Charreaux have been the publisher of the “Gouvernance des entreprises” publication since 2006.

Peter Wirtz has been teaching at the University of Jean Moulin Lyon 3 since September 1, 2011, where he was elected Vice President for Research in May 2012.

He has been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. since 1991. Langobardia Munich zu Bayreuth in the Cartell Association of Catholic German Student Associations (CV) .
