Peter Wuyts

Peter Wuyts (born February 24, 1973 in Turnhout ) is a former Belgian road cyclist .

In 1995 Peter Wuyts won the overall ranking at the Ronde van Antwerpen. In 1996 he became a professional with the Belgian cycling team Tönissteiner-Saxon . The next year he won the second stage of the Tour de Namur and was able to win the overall standings. In the 1998 season he and his team Vlaanderen 2002-Eddy Merckx won the Tour de la Haute-Sambre and one stage each at the Ronde van Nederland and at the Tour de l'Avenir . In 1999 he moved to Lotto-Mobistar , where he competed in the Tour de France , among others . There he made it into the top twenty four times and finished in 112th place overall. From 2001 Wuyts drove for the Belgian team Collstrop-Palmans . In 2004 he won the Omloop van het Meetjesland and in 2005 he was successful at De Drie Zustersteden .
