Peter van Dalen

Peter van Dalen (born September 3, 1958 in Zwijndrecht ) is a Dutch politician from the Christian Union .

Life

Dalen studied history and international relations at the University of Utrecht , where he graduated in contemporary history and international relations. After completing his studies, Dalen worked in the Dutch administration. From 1995 to 2001 he was head of the inland waterway transport department in the Dutch Ministry of Transport and Water Management. From 1994 to 1998 he was also a member of the Houten municipal council .

Van Dalen has been a member of the European Parliament since July 14, 2009 . There Dalen is vice-chairman of the committee on transport and tourism and a member of the delegation for relations with India . As a deputy, van Dahlen is on the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety , the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and the Delegation for Relations with South Africa .

Dalen is married, lives in Houten and is a member of the Protestant Church of the Netherlands .
