Peter von Thure († August 28, 1282 ) was provost and canon of the Brandenburg Cathedral .

Live and act

Thure was a deserted village in the Havelland between Tremmen and Etzin, which fell in the early 14th century at the latest . Peter von Thure was mentioned in documents as provost of the cathedral in Brandenburg since 1264 at the latest . In an episcopal document from 1269 he was called a canon or canon.

Provost Peter von Thure died on August 28, 1282. He was buried in the central nave of Brandenburg Cathedral. His tombstone is the oldest preserved in the cathedral and was later placed in the north transept . A special feature of the incised drawing in this grave slab is a halo around the head of Peter von Thures, who was reserved for saints and highly respected personalities.
