Petermann (III.) Von Wabern († around 1491 ) was mayor of the city ​​of Bern .

Petermann von Wabern first appears in the sources in 1442. He was the son of the Petermann (II.) Of Wabern, the Seckelmeister , and Pernetta de Villarzel. Petermann (I.) von Wabern († 1399), his grandfather, was a tanner who joined the Small Council in 1367, was able to acquire the Freiherrschaft Belp in 1383 and thus became a member of the city notables .

Petermann (III.) Von Wabern became lord of Hünigen and co- lord of Belp through inheritance . In 1467 he married Küngold von Spiegelberg. From 1442 he was a member of the Bernese Grand Council and from 1447 a member of the Small Council. From 1455 to 1459 he was bailiff of Nidau ​​and from 1471 to 1477 alternately mayor of Bern. He served as a captain in the Waldshut War in 1468, was a troop leader on the train to Héricourt , in Vaud and in the battle of Grandson, where he was knighted . He was ambassador to Bern several times. In 1471 he was one of the convicts in the Bernese Twingherrenstreit . According to the sources, Petermann von Wabern had assets of 26,000 guilders in 1458.
