Peterson Rail

Peterson Rail was a Norwegian - Swedish freight company founded on July 2, 2007. It carried wood and wood chip trains within Norway and from Norway to Sweden. In 2010 the company had total assets of SEK 33.8 million .

The company's Swedish office was in Trollhättan . The internationally active company was part of a company founded in 1801 by Momme Peterson in Norway, which began with a shop in Moss . The main business of Peterson located in fiber packaging solutions and in the manufacture of paper on recycling basis. In March 2011, Peterson Rail became a subsidiary of the newly established Nordic Rail AS . For 2011 sales expectations were SEK 125 million . When it started in 2007 with six part-time employees, the expectations in the HR department at the end of 2011 were 60 to 70 employees.

On October 1, 2011, Peterson Rail took over the transport services of Stena Recyclings tågverksamhet . Peterson Rail took over five TMZ diesel locomotives and more than a hundred wagons for the transport of iron and scrap. On May 11, 2012, Peterson Rail filed for bankruptcy .

  • 13 diesel locomotives type TMZ , including DSB MZ NOHAB No. 1405, 1409 and 1447 in use, No. 1455 reserve locomotive
  • 1 diesel locomotive type T43 (T43 214)
  • 1 type Z71 diesel locomotive
  • 1 diesel locomotive type V10 (DHG700C)
  • 60 wood transport wagons type Sgnss
  • 60 wood transport wagons type Rs / Rps
  • 19 closed goods wagons type Lis

After the bankruptcy, most of the locomotives were sold to BLS Rail AB, which was founded in 2009.
