The Petit Château (Eng. Small castle) in Eaubonne , a municipality in the Val-d'Oise department in the French region of Île-de-France , was built from 1772 to 1776. Since 1967 the castle on Boulevard du Petit-Château No. 14 has been on the list of cultural monuments in France as Monument historique .

history

The castle was built according to plans by the architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux (1736-1806), who described it in his 1804 work L'Architecture considerée sous le rapport de l'art, des moeurs et de la législation and published the plans therein. In neoclassical palace notables as lived Louis-Jérôme Gohier and Merlin de Thionville . The building, which was divided into several apartments in 1926, now serves as an office for the Sécurité sociale (social security).
