Petra Bauer is a former German biathlete .

Petra Bauer started for the WSV Clausthal-Zellerfeld . In the 1990/91 season she won the overall ranking of the European Biathlon Cup ahead of Katrin Kruschwitz and Sylvia Kaden . Bauer achieved her greatest success at the 1992 Biathlon World Championships in Novosibirsk . In the Winter Olympic Games of Albertville only the non-Olympic team race was held. Together with Petra Behle , Uschi Disl and Inga Kesper , she won the title ahead of the teams from Russia and Czechoslovakia.
