Petra Emmerich-Kopatsch (born  September 19, 1960 in Osterode ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She is married and has one child.

Professional background

After her schooling she became Stoffprüferin / chemistry trained. She then trained as a process engineer until 1985. From 1985 to 1988 she worked in the research laboratory of P + S AG in Salzgitter . Since 1989 she has been employed and since 1993 - after completing her apprenticeship as an engineer for process technology - head of the specialist coordination office for environmental technology of the State of Lower Saxony, since 1998 also head of the Lower Saxony Mobility Forum .

Political career

She has been a member of the district council of the Goslar district since 2001, and has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since March 4, 2003 . There she is spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group for federal and European affairs and the media. She is currently the chairwoman of the SPD sub-district of Goslar . She is also a member of the executive board of the SPD district of Braunschweig .
