Petra Lotzkat

Petra Lotzkat (* 1960 ) is a German economist and political officer ( close to the SPD ). Since October 1, 2018, she has been State Councilor of the Authority for Labor, Social Affairs, Family and Integration of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg under Social Senator Melanie Leonhard (SPD) in the Tschentscher I Senate .

Education and professional career

Petra Lotzkat studied economics at the University of Hamburg from 1980 to 1985 and then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Economics there. From 1987 to 1989 she completed a commercial traineeship and then worked for various authorities in the Hamburg administration with a focus on organization and personnel until 1999. From 1999 to 2003 Lotzkat headed areas such as the central training and the mobility office. She also dealt with the development of executive development and fundamental questions of personnel management . From 2003 to 2005 she was in charge of the central training and further education of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. She then worked until 2012 as the managing director of the regional office “Center for Education and Training”. From 2012 to September 30, 2018, she acted as head of the Office for Labor and Integration and the ESF administrative authority in the Authority for Labor, Social Affairs, Family and Integration of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Since October 1, 2018, Lotzkat has been a political official and State Councilor for the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Family and Integration under Social Senator Melanie Leonhard ( SPD ) in the Tschentscher I Senate . She thus succeeded Jan Pörksen (SPD), who moved to the Hamburg Senate Chancellery as State Councilor and Head of Authority . Lotzkat can be classified as politically close to the SPD.
