Petra Stuber

Petra Stuber (* 1956 ) is a German theater scholar and university lecturer .

Life

Stuber studied culture , theater and literature . At first she worked in the theater. In 1985 she graduated as Dr. phil. From 1985 to 1992 she taught at the “Hans Otto” theater school in Leipzig . From 1990 to 1992 she worked at the Institute for Theater, Film and Television Studies at the Free University of Berlin . From 1992 to 2001 she worked at the Institute for Theater Studies at the University of Leipzig . She was visiting professor at the University of Glasgow , the University of Bern , the University of California, San Diego and the Waseda University in Tokyo. In 1998 she completed her habilitation with a thesis on the history of GDR theater. Since 2001 she has been professor for theater dramaturgy and theater history at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig .
