Petro Dode
Petro Dode (* 1924 in Erseka ) is a former Albanian politician of the Labor Party of Albania (PPSh).
biography
Dode worked as a party official in the economic sector and also wrote specialist books on party political topics such as 20 vjet Shqipëri socialiste (1964) and economic questions of the planned economy such as Revizionizmi jugosllav dhe pasojat e tij në ekonominë bujqësore të Jugosllavise të tëhvillitim të planifikitim të zkonomis të (1962) and problems bujqësore në RPSh. (1965).
In addition, he was initially a candidate for the Central Committee (ZK) of the PPSh.
In 1966 he was elected for the first time as a member of the People's Assembly ( Kuvendi Popullor ) and belonged to it from the sixth to the end of the eleventh electoral term in 1991.
After Abdyl Këllezi was disempowered , he succeeded him as Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers on September 1, 1975 and was thus one of the deputies of Prime Minister Mehmet Shehu until January 14, 1982 . At the same time, on September 1, 1975, he succeeded Këllezi as chairman of the State Planning Commission and also held this position under Adil Çarçani , Shehu's successor as Prime Minister, until November 23, 1982.
On February 19, 1987, he succeeded Pali Miska as President of the People's Assembly . He held this position until April 15, 1991, making him the last Speaker of Parliament in the People's Republic of Albania.
