Peugeot JetForce
The JetForce (also Jet or Jetty ) is a now discontinued motor scooter of the French vehicle manufacturer Peugeot . Due to its unique design, the JetForce is more reminiscent of a motorcycle than a scooter. It was one of the first scooters in the world with a central shock absorber . There are five different versions of the JetForce.
Models
50 C-Tech
The JetForce 50 C-Tech was the best-selling variant of the JetForce. The rated output of the water-cooled, horizontal 50 cm³ carburettor engine is 3.6 kW (4.9 PS). This makes it the most powerful scooter with a carburettor engine in the 50 cm³ class, ahead of the Gilera Runner . In addition to the annually changing colors, there are also special versions of the C-Tech. These differ from normal C-Tech only in the color combination and a few optical details, such as aluminum running boards, a Shurican brake disc, vibration dampers on the handlebar ends or carbon parts in the cockpit. The engine of the C-Tech is also used in the Peugeot models Ludix and Vivacity (air-cooled), as well as Ludix Blaster (water-cooled) and Speedfight 3 (air- / water-cooled). The scooter has a helmet compartment under the seat. It was built in 2008.
50 TSDI
Like the C-Tech, the JetForce 50 TSDI has a 50 cm³ engine. Instead of a carburetor, however, it has an injection system. This results in lower fuel consumption. There is also a small on-board computer in the cockpit next to a digital speedometer and an analog tachometer. The SBC composite braking system was also available here. However, the scooter is not particularly easy to tune. Peugeot has stopped production of the TSDI due to many deficiencies in the injection electronics.
125 EFI
The JetForce 125 cm³ EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) has an injection system. It was also available with ABS. The output of the water-cooled 4-stroke engine is 9 kW (12.2 PS).
The EFI dropped out of the program in 2008 due to the Euro 3 standard.
125 EFI compressor
Like the JetForce 125 EFI, the JetForce 125 EFI compressor has a water-cooled 125 cc motor. For the first time in the world, Peugeot installed a compressor ( Roots blower ) on a 125 cm³ unit, giving it an output of up to 15 kW (20.4 hp). An 11 kW (K15) and a 15 kW version (K20) were available, with the K20 version being withdrawn from the range at an early stage due to very low sales figures. It was built from 2003 to 2007.
Since January 1, 2008, the JetForce K may no longer be “re-registered” because it only complies with the Euro 2 emissions standard . The models currently offered as "new" are day registrations . The 125 cm³ compressor was dropped from the range in 2008 together with the almost identical EFI.
H2i
The JetForce H2i is a new development and not a further development of the TSDI system. Its innovative low-pressure injection technology was developed by the English company Scion-Sprays , as Peugeot wanted to continue using the injection principle in two-stroke engines due to its many advantages (higher performance, lower consumption and longer engine life). Compliance with the Euro 3 emissions standard that came into force in 2012 also played a major role at Peugeot in continuing to pursue injection technology.
The injection system of the JetForce H2i is a pulse pump injection. With this technology, low-pressure impulse pumps take on the task of the carburetor by injecting fixed quantities of petrol and oil into the intake manifold with different frequencies depending on various factors (throttle position of the new fly-by-wire throttle grip, engine temperature or driving situation). This process has many advantages, such as - compared to the JetForce C-Tech - 30% lower fuel and oil consumption, higher performance and longer engine life. The desired compliance with the Euro 3 emissions standard can also be met in this way.
Sales of the JetForce H2i began in spring 2013. A short time later, however, it was given up.
