Pexy
Pexie referred to in the surgery the attachment of an organ or structure to another by means of a surgical suture. Examples
- from a orchidopexy (orchis gr = testicles) are referred to when the testes in the scrotum is fixed
- Vaginopexie : the attachment of the vagina ( vagina ) to pelvic structures after the womb ( uterus ) (. Eg for uterine cancer) had to be removed.
- Gastropexy : the suturing of the stomach ( gaster ) to the abdominal wall to prevent it from sliding up through the central diaphragmatic hole into the chest or to prevent a recurrence of a stomach rotation .
- Colopexy : the attachment of the colon to the back of the abdominal wall to prevent recurrence of a perineal hernia
- Rectopexy : the attachment of the rectum to the back wall of the pelvis as a therapy for rectal prolapse
- Nephropexy : the fixation of a kidney in nephroptosis . The reason is to avoid or possibly eliminate urinary congestion .
