Helping Pfandtastisch is a project of the social heroes that gives people the opportunity to throw deposit receipts in a donation box directly in retail . The proceeds from the donated deposit will benefit various charitable projects. The project was started in 2006 and has now achieved six-figure revenues for the projects involved.

Idea and facts

The Pfandtastisch help project is based on a specially developed donation box that can be installed by retailers and supermarket chains in the area of vending machines. Depending on the region, the proceeds from the donated deposit will benefit various non-profit organizations and projects. The project is now attracting nationwide attention, and as early as 2009 there were over 300 supermarkets and retailers across Germany who took part in the project. For the Berliner Tafeln alone, annual revenues of over 100,000 euros are achieved. In the meantime, the social heroes have been able to win numerous markets for the campaign across Germany, especially in metropolitan areas, the proceeds of which flow to a total of 12 different partners and institutions.

history

Raul Krauthausen and his cousin came up with the idea of collecting deposit vouchers for a charitable cause in 2005 after a party. The idea was worked out and took part in a competition organized by Neon magazine with the question “What is missing in the world?”. There the project won the main prize, a Smart Roadster , which was sold immediately. The proceeds from the sale flowed into the development of a collection box called CharityBox .

The first draft turned out to be impractical, whereupon a second model was designed, which is still in use today. The social heroes carried out their first practical test in Berlin with the Kaiser's supermarket chain . The proceeds from the first field trial went to the Berlin food bank .
