The Brandleite is a 878.9  m high, non-independent summit in the immediate vicinity of the Großer Beerberg in the Thuringian Forest. It is crossed by the railway in the Brandleitetunnel and by the federal highway 71 in the Rennsteig tunnel. The summit is about two kilometers south of the winter sports resort Oberhof .

Pfanntalskopf

The 867.8  m high Pfanntalskopf is the northern summit of the fire control, which is only 0.5 km away. On the site of a former quarry on the mountain, the Rennsteiggarten Oberhof was laid out between 1970 and 1976 and today extends to the summit.
