Parish Church of Breitenwaida
The parish church of Breitenwaida is located in the village of Breitenwaida in the municipality of Hollabrunn in the Hollabrunn district in Lower Austria . The the feast of the Visitation ordained Roman Catholic parish church belongs to the deanery Hollabrunn in the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).
history
A parish was mentioned in a document before 1245 and 1783. The new church in the village was built in 1822/1823 according to the plans of the master builder Josef Reiminger.
architecture
The classicistic hall church with arched windows is oriented to the west. A retracted round apse adjoins the nave. The eastern facade front with a rectangular portal with roofing on volute consoles and above a blind niche carries a flat gable. The single-storey east tower above has a flat-domed roof dome. A rectangular sacristy with a flat ceiling is attached to the south under a hipped roof.
The interior of the nave with three bays under square vaults and lateral arched niches has a structure with pillars with pilaster strips in front of them, which merge into belts. The swinging organ loft stands on strong pillars.
The glass paintings in the nave and choir were made in the 20th century and show Saints Leonhard, Notburga, Anna teaching Maria to read , Florian, Sebastian, Leopold, Annunciation, Holy Family .
Furnishing
The establishment in late classicist historicist style. The late classical high altar around 1822 shows the altar sheet of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary (Nazarene) and carries the side figures of Luke and John.
The organ was built by Franz Josef Swoboda in 1900 and the organ was rebuilt in 1975.
