Catholic parish church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Brunnenthal

The Roman Catholic parish church of Brunnenthal is located in Brunnenthal in the municipality of Brunnenthal in the Schärding district in Upper Austria . The church, consecrated to the Visitation of the Virgin Mary , belongs to the Deanery Schärding in the Diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection . With the attached well chapel, the parish church is also a pilgrimage church.

history

The former chapel from 1651 to 1656 forms the sacristy. The church was built between 1667 and 1668 with the master builder Christoph Zuccalli . In 1735 the west tower was raised. The lower gallery is from 1668, the upper gallery from 1715.

architecture

The single-nave three-bay nave under a ridge vault is followed by a retracted single-bay choir with a three-eighth end under a ridge vault. The sacristy as a former chapel has a semicircle. The three-axis two-story west gallery with paintings of Marienleben also has carvings by Sebastian Hagenauer and Stefan Tabor. The slender west tower with an onion helmet bears baroque statues in niches.

Furnishing

Johann Chrysostomus Finck and Jakob Negele built the high altar from 1668. He wears sculptures by Johann Klain. The altar sheet Finding the Wonder Spring was restored by the Munich court painter Karl Pfleger (1912).

In the sacristy there is an altar around 1662.

The organ was built by Leonhard Freindt (1715) in Passau.
