history

Presumably as a branch of the parish church Hollenstein an der Ybbs, founded by the diocese of Freising . Documented in 1310 independent parish.

The current church was rebuilt from 1783/1784 to 1792. There was a fire in 1896, after which a historicist facility was built using what was left. In 1960 the church was restored outside and in 1989 inside.

architecture

The late Baroque hall building to the north with a retracted choir has a post-baroque west tower on the nave with a late Gothic core. The sacristy, built to the northeast in the choir corner, is structurally connected with the core of late Gothic additions, the Pfarrstöckl or Karner, and from the Pfarrstöckl with the adjoining rectory via a Schwibbogen passage. The church plateau is bounded in the east by wrought iron bars between stone pillars above low lining walls that were renewed in 1927.

On the choir vault, painting with late Baroque mock stucco with medallions shows the Trinity and evangelists in the spandrels. The stained glass shows St. Theresia 1900, Herz Mariä und Herz Jesu 1885, in the nave hl. Cäcilia around 1910/1920.

Furnishing

The neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic altars from 1899/1900 bear statues by Franz Schmalzl and integrated remains of the classicist predecessor altars.

Josef Breinbauer built the organ in 1908. Two bells call 1533.
