The parish church of Grän is located in the Austrian municipality of Grän in Tyrol . The church, which is subordinate to the patronage of St. Wendelin , belongs to the deanery Breitenwang in the diocese of Innsbruck . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
An Expositur Zum Heiligen Wendelin as a chapel was first mentioned in 1459 and was a pilgrimage church until the 18th century . The present church was built in 1791 under the construction manager Michael Zobl from Grän . The exterior of the church was renovated in 1976 and the interior in 1989.
Architecture and equipment
The church is decorated with sculptures, ceiling frescoes and rich stucco work . The three altars made of stucco marble have altarpieces and there are sculptures on the high altar .
The roof of the church and the onion dome of the tower are covered with roof tiles .
The two lower parts of the church tower are square, the upper one is octagonal. On the top of the hood there is a triple cross with a tower ball . The tower clock with Roman numerals and gold-plated hands is above the sound window .
Bells
In the bell chamber there are four bells with the tuning on g 1 , a 1 , h 1 , d 2 , which were cast by Johann Grassmayr in Innsbruck in 1962 . The two large bells each have a clapper .
