history

High altar

A parish church was mentioned in documents in 1203. The church building, which is essentially Gothic , was redesigned in Baroque style in 1712. In 1723 the Überacker crypt chapel was renewed. From 1727 to 1734 the nave was renewed, the choir expanded and a sacristy added. The late Gothic north tower on the nave around 1536/1538 received an attachment from 1693 to 1696 and was renewed after a fire in 1739/1740 and restored in 1951 and 1965. A church renovation was carried out from 1880 to 1882, and an interior renovation in 1929. Further restorations took place around 1950, from 1982 to 1984, 1966 (outside) and 1980.

architecture

The church is surrounded by a cemetery and a wall. In front of the gabled western front is a small groin vaulted porch from the 2nd half of the 19th century. The late Gothic multi-profiled pointed arch portal from the late 15th century was reduced by the expansion of the church. The nave and the choir have arched windows and eaves. The Gothic tower building is divided into four floors by coffin cornices, has a pointed arch portal, pressed pointed arched windows with baroque spherical corner attachments, a baroque octagonal floor with arched sound windows and a double onion helmet from the years 1740 and 1771. The south front of the nave received a baroque side aisle-like chapel extension with pilaster and cornice. A single-axis crypt chapel of the Überacker, renewed in 1723, is attached to the southern chapel extension, followed by the southern choir aisle. The retracted choir with triangular closure stands between lower side baroque side aisles from around 1730/1733 with rounded corners. The two-storey sacristy extension with rectangular windows and eaves from around 1731/1732 stands at the apex of the choir.
