history

The church was mentioned in a document in 1445/1455. 1969/1970 was a restoration.

architecture

The small late Gothic church building has simple stepped buttresses on the nave, the choir closes with a five-eighth end . The mighty northern tower has a tall pointed gable helmet. The profiled west portal is ogival, next to it is a late Gothic holy water font. The southern side portal has a profiled wall and a straight lintel. On the south wall of the choir there is a remarkable large fresco of Christophorus in a Renaissance columned aedicula with 1515 attributed to Urban Görtschacher .

The interior of the church shows itself as a three-bay nave with candle arches and flat vaults because of an initial flat ceiling. The western yoke is a baroque extension. The wooden organ loft over two columns from 1852 occupies the western half of the hall. The nave has both pointed arched and baroque arched windows.

Paintings on the pointed triumphal arch and around the round-arched choir windows show scrollwork motifs from around 1600. The spacious choir has a ribbed vault over trimmed services and keystones with coats of arms, the vault fields and ribs show a late Gothic painting around 1500 with tendrils and evangelist symbols. In the north wall of the choir there is a late-Gothic sacrament niche with a keel-arch frame, the late-Gothic sacristy portal has a round-arched profiled vestments and an iron-studded door.

Furnishing

The high altar with 1670 shows the image of the Baptism of Christ, the tabernacle is from the 18th century. The left side altar from the beginning of the 18th century shows the picture Maria with Child by Johann Tronigger 1856, the right side altar from the beginning of the 18th century shows the picture St. Isidore from the 18th century. The carved figure of Johanneshaupt from the end of the 15th century stands in the sacrament niche. On the north wall of the nave there is a console figure of the Man of Sorrows in 1734 and renovated in 1822.

The font is late Gothic.

The organ was built by Bartholomäus Hörbiger in 1852 or, according to the chronogram, in 1861.
