from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans von Dieskau , mostly von Dießkau at the time , († after 1598) was an electoral Saxon bailiff and manor owner.

Life

Hans was a member of the Saxon noble family von Dieskau and was the son of Otto von Dieskau (the elder) and Magdalena née von Techwitz. His father died of injuries sustained in the Battle of Sievershausen in 1553.

Due to the death of the uncle Otto von Dieskau of the same name without male heirs, Hans von Dieskau and his brother Otto von Dieskau acquired extensive property at an early stage . Together with Otto, he received the Glesien estate by drawing lots from the uncle's inheritance in 1586 at the latest . He paid off his brother who was sitting on Finsterwalde . In addition, Hans von Dieskau had been the owner of Altdöbern since 1570 . In 1587 he bought his brother Otto von Dieskau's Thalgüter in the city of Halle (Saale) . With that he took over financially. The debts increased, so that in the same year he was forced to sell Altdöbern to his brother Otto von Dieskau and in 1592 to sell the Glesien manor to Georg von Kommerstädt.

In 1592 Hans von Dieskau was designated as electoral Saxon bailiff in Lützen in the Merseburg monastery . He was responsible for the administration of the Lützen office on behalf of the Elector of Saxony. He was responsible for the financial and judicial administration.

In 1598, Hans von Dieskau was still alive, because he was employed that year as a co-lean on the property of his late brother Otto von Dieskau. In the event that his three nephews had died without offspring, the two estates of Finsterwalde and Glesien would have passed to him.
