history
The original branch of the Bromberg parish church was documented as a vicariate in 1281 and was raised to an independent parish church around 1300 and was a patron parish church of the Reichersberg monastery in Upper Austria until 1700 .
Remains of a choir square and a northern nave wall of a Romanesque choir square church, probably from the second half of the 12th century, were partially excavated in 1970. This church was probably followed in the 14th century by a new building of a larger nave, the core of which has been preserved. After it was destroyed by a fire in 1459, a layer of fire was excavated under the choir in 1970, it was rebuilt and converted with a foundation by Christoph von Pottendorf.
architecture
The remarkable late Gothic church building has an asymmetrical two-aisled nave with a high southern main nave and a lower northern chapel-like aisle, has a high polygonal choir on the main nave and a mighty west tower. The church was expanded into a fortified church and is surrounded by the remains of the former fortified cemetery.
Furnishing
The classical high altar from 1791/1792 was rebuilt in 1954.
The organ with a free pipe prospect was built by Johann M. Kauffmann (1950) and shows the coats of arms of Lower Austria, Kirchschlag, Pope Pius XII on the positive parapet . and Archbishop Cardinal Theodor Innitzer .
