The parish church of Klagenfurt-St. Theresia is located in the Welzenegg district of the municipality of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in Carinthia . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to St. Therese von Lisieux belongs to the dean's office of Klagenfurt-Stadt in the diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

In 1931 an emergency church was built. In 1967 a church was built according to the plans of the architect Adolf Bucher and consecrated in 1968.

architecture

The church building, which is oriented towards the south and also widens towards the south, has a raised tent-like apse under a stepped gable roof, the floor plan adopts the protective jacket symbol. There are architecturally strikingly shaped abutments on the sloping outer walls. The free-standing bell tower made of exposed concrete has sound window slats made of Eternit. Giselbert Hoke created the glass painting in 1969.

Furnishing

The artistic design was based on plans by the painter Werner Lössl in 1969, with a large hanging cross and other furnishings.
