Building description

The church is originally a Gothic building from the 14th century. In the first half of the 19th century it was extended to the west and the tower changed. The roofs are partly covered with stone slabs. The retracted choir is supported by buttresses that were added later . Under the choir there is an ossuary with a central support. The tower with round arched sound openings and a pyramid roof is presented to the northern half of the west facade. In the bell room hangs a bell cast by Josef Graßmayr in 1753. A staircase covered by a high canopy leads to the organ gallery above the arched west portal. The fresco of St. Christopher from the second half of the 15th century on the south wall of the choir is only preserved in the upper half.

The flat ceiling in the nave is provided with stucco fields. The extension of the nave can be recognized by the recessed wall of the gallery parapet. The west gallery with a bay-like organ porch from the 19th century is structured by pilasters . The organ was built by Anton Müller . A narrow, beveled, pointed triumphal arch connects the nave and the choir, which has been raised by two steps. The ridge-vaulted choir with five-eighth closure still has some figurative consoles from the 14th century. An arched portal with an iron-studded door leads into the vaulted sacristy . The eastern choir window is narrow and has a pointed arch. The original tracery has been preserved in the southeastern nave window .
