history

A church was documented in 788. Remnants of the previous buildings up to the Carolingian era were secured during excavations in 1970. On the site of a Gothic church, a baroque new building was built from 1734 to 1736 according to the plans of the architect Georg Philipp Apeller. 1978 was a renovation.

architecture

The baroque hall with a circular choir and a north tower is surrounded by a cemetery.

The exterior of the church is simple, the core of the tower, which is probably Gothic, has coupled round-arched sound windows and has a pointed gable helmet from 1903. The chapel to the east of the tower has a round apse. A two-storey sacristy is attached to the south. On the north, south and west sides of the church there are arched portals with marble walls. The arched windows show Faschen. The western front under a curved bent gable is triaxial with side pilaster strips, the main cornice above the central axis is raised in segmental arches. The west portal is named 1735, above there is a niche with the figure of Maria Immaculata from 1735. Outside the choir there is a group of figures Crucifixion around 1700.

The interior of the church shows a four-bay nave and a slightly drawn-in choir with a semicircle.

The baroque vault paintings in medallions around 1735 were painted by Johann Georg Höttinger.
