history

A chapel of a former castle area was documented for the middle of the 12th century and relocated locally in 1353. In 1786 the elevation to the parish was incorporated into the Altenburg monastery. In 1928 there was a restoration. In 1949 the nave was newly vaulted and structurally changed.

architecture

The simple baroque church building has a west tower.

The west tower with arched sound windows and a curved pyramid helmet shows a double coat of arms with 1655 above a profiled rectangular portal, the upper part of the tower was added in 1835. A retracted choir with a probably Gothic basic shape with a five-eighth closure connects to the nave . With the new vaulting in 1949, the church received renewed flat arched windows. The sacristy is built on the north side.

The interior of the church shows a barrel-vaulted tower ground floor. The nave is vaulted. The retracted triumphal arch with a combat cornice is rounded. The choir has a stitch cap vault.

Furnishing

The interior is partly neo-baroque from 1912. The high altar has a tabernacle in a crowned niche with the figure of St. Aegidius. The side altar as a scroll retable shows the heart of Jesus.

The pictures of the Stations of the Cross were made in 1831. The neo-Gothic font made of red marble is from 1912.

The arcaded organ case is in the parapet of a wooden gallery. The organ was built by Franz Capek in 1912.
