history

In 1066 an "ecclesia in Grazluppa" was called. Since 1103 the church has been incorporated into St. Lambrecht Abbey. The Gothic church was built under the abbots Heinrich II. Moyker (1419-1455) and Johann II. Schachner (1455-1478). In 1482 the church was set on fire by the Hungarians and restored until 1500 and the altars were rededicated. The inscription in 1511 on the vicarage wall shows that the construction work was completed. From 1679 to 1681 the nave was redesigned in Baroque style. In 1966 the interior was restored.

architecture

The two-bay choir with a five-eighth closure has a mesh rib vault with three parallel ribs on circular services on pillars. At the services there are niches and double consoles, some with remarkable heads. The vault shows a vegetable tendril painting around 1500, which was uncovered in 1966, at the end of the choir, Mary with child. In the south wall of the choir there is a rich niche for sessions with a crab-covered donkey's back running onto head consoles. The small, similarly decorated sacrament niche has a wrought iron grille in baroque shapes. The black marble lava table shows the coat of arms of Abbot Franz von Kaltenhausen (1662–1707). The windows with tracery are two-lane and have ornamental panels from 1906 created by the Tyrolean glass painting. The choir has a south portal and a north sacristy portal, both with shoulder arches, the sacristy door is iron-clad. In the pointed arched, constricting front arch, five steps lead down into the nave.

Furnishing

The rich, powerful high altar was created by the sculptor Christoph Paumgartner from Neumarkt on the basis of a contract from 1627. In the central niche from 1696 there is a seated Mary with child, according to the inscription 1471, with baroque additions to the side. Around the niche is a rich frame, above it a canopy with angels, created around 1730/1740 by Balthasar Prandtstätter , who also created the console figures Joseph and Johannes Nepomuk on the sides of the high altar, as well as the flying angel in the chancel. The tabernacle is from the end of the 18th century. The altar table is made of stone with ogival three-pass arcades.
