The Roman Catholic parish church of Oberkreuzstetten is located in the center of the village of Oberkreuzstetten in the municipality of Kreuzstetten in the Mistelbach district in Lower Austria . It is dedicated to the Feast of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary and belongs to the Wolkersdorf deanery in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The building is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The church was built at the end of the 19th century and made a parish church in 1949.

Church building

Church exterior

The church is a neo-Romanesque hall building with a 3/8 end and a facade tower with a pyramid helmet in the west. The facade is structured by pilaster strips with arched friezes and bi-ore windows. At the end of the 19th century, a sacristy was added to the choir to the east .

Church interior

The hall has a flat ceiling, the walls have a pilaster structure. The wooden west gallery dates from 1912.

Furnishing

The altarpiece shows “The Visitation of the Virgin Mary” and in a neo-Gothic frame. The picture is flanked by carved figures on the side, Saint Sebastian and Saint Rochus . Both sculptures were created around 1900.

The organ was made by Josef Panhuber in 1931 .
