The parish church of Ollern stands on the Anger in the village of Ollern in the market town of Sieghartskirchen in the Tulln district in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to Saint Rochus of Montpellier belongs to the Tulln deanery in the diocese of St. Pölten . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

In 1717 there was a wooden chapel belonging to the Freundorf parish church . In 1783 a pub was established. In 1891 the church was elevated to a parish church.

The current church was built in 1743. In 1756 lightning caused damage. In 1762 the choir was added and the tower changed. Damage occurred in 1809. In 1827 the sacristy was enlarged. In 1868/1871 there was a restoration.

architecture

The simple late baroque church building with a round apse has a west tower.

The hall church has carnis arch windows in a plaster frame, the retracted single-yoke, transverse rectangular choir has a round end, on the west gable front there is a four-storey classical tower with cornices, plastered fields, corner pilasters and round-arched windows and sound windows, clock gables and neo-Baroque onion-shaped pyramid dome with six-sided top. The two-storey sacristy on the north side has rectangular windows.

The interior of the church shows a two-bay baroque hall with a mirror vault, stucco frame and profiled cornice with a western gallery, the triumphal arch is round-arched, the slightly raised one-bay choir shows pilasters, belt arches and a square vault above a strongly profiled cornice.

Furnishing

The high altar as a late Baroque columned retable with sacrificial portals from 1763 shows the altarpiece Adoration of the Trinity by St. Rochus painted by Josef Melchior Thallmann, and bears the statues Sebastian and Florian in a corona with protruding volutes.

Friedrich Heftner built the organ in 1987. Johann Caspar Hofbauer named a bell in 1817.
