The Roman Catholic parish church Puchenstuben is located in the Lower Austrian municipality Puchenstuben . The church is consecrated to St. Anne and the parish is subordinate to the Scheibbs deanery of the diocese of St. Pölten .

history

The church in 1727/28 was built near a chapel mentioned in 1429, which was excavated in 1904. The founder was Princess Edmunda Theresia Maria von Liechtenstein , née von Dietrichstein-Nikolsburg. Originally the Kirchenweiler was a branch of Frankenfels . In 1784, by order of Emperor Josef II, the benefice was raised to a locality under the patronage of Weißenburg and in 1804 to an independent parish.

description

The sacred building is a simple baroque building with a retracted round apse and an axial sacristy extension. The nave is three-bay with a centralizing central bay extension and has a gable roof. On the west side there is a roof turret with a pointed helmet and clock, which was renewed in 1889. The timbered entrance porch was built around 1900 and the west side was clad with wooden shingles in 1928.

The baroque marble high altar with the altarpiece of St. Anna, St. Margaret and the statues of St. Maria und des Josef was built around 1728. The organ is in a neo-Romanesque case and was built in 1895 by Max Jakob.

In 1953 the exterior was restored and the interior was restored from 1962 to 1966.
