The parish church of St. Georgen am Fillmannsbach is located in St. Georgen am Fillmannsbach in the municipality of St. Georgen am Fillmannsbach in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Georg belongs to the dean's office Braunau in the diocese of Linz . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1040. The Gothic church building from conglomerate (Nagelfluh) was built around 1460.

architecture

The single-nave, three-bay nave and the slightly drawn-in two-bay choir with a three-eighth end have ribbed vaults with a kinked row of ribs. The three-axis west gallery stands on keel arches and is vaulted with mesh ribs. The west tower, preserved in Gothic style, has an eight-sided pointed helmet with trimmed gables and a bell house with a ribbed vault. The richly profiled ogival south portal and a Gothic door fitting with bars and lilies has a vaulted vestibule. The sacristy door has Gothic fittings.

To the south of the church is a crypt arbor belonging to the König family and contains a wall altar from the second quarter of the 17th century.

Furnishing

The high altar from 1757 shows an altarpiece by the painter Josef Brandstätter from Braunau and carries the side statues of Florian and Martin from the third quarter of the 17th century. Two Gothic figures Katharina and Barbara from the end of the 15th century are on the gallery parapet.
