Parish Church Töpen
The parish church of Töpen is an Evangelical Lutheran parish church in Töpen .
A chapel from the 14th century was enlarged in the late Middle Ages and baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century. The altar is a pulpit altar . The parapet fields of the gallery are reminiscent of the regional nobility with coats of arms, including the coats of arms of Zedtwitz and Beulwitz .
According to Karl Benker, a knight of Zedtwitz in splendid armor is depicted on the sandstone epitaph . He died in 1574. The ancestral coats of arms refer to the von Zedtwitz, Laineck , Zedtwitz and Steinsdorf families . The memorial stone was set in the ground as a grave slab until 1711 and was then used as an altar step during renovations. The epitaph has been set up on the eastern wall of the choir since 1986.
Four bells with the tones a '- c ”- d” - f ”hang in the church tower.
