The parish church of Velden am Wörther See is in the municipality of Velden am Wörther See in Carinthia . The Roman Catholic parish church of Our Lady belongs to the Rosegg deanery in the Gurk diocese . The church is a listed building .

history

Located on the western edge of the village in an elevated position, the church has been an independent parish since 1949, previously a branch of Kranzlhofen. The church was built in 1937 according to plans by Franz Baumgartner in the style of the Wörthersee architecture , the vestibule dates from 1962. It is a west-facing structure with a north aisle and a tower on the south-east corner of the nave. Long and side aisles are flat covered. The building has a semicircular triumphal arch and a vaulted choir with a semicircle. In 1988 the interior was restored including the restoration of the 1938 colourfulness.
