The Hörvelsingen plow brewery is a beer brewery in the Hörvelsingen suburb of the city of Langenau , located on the Swabian Alb . Pflugbier Hörvelsingen is the brand name for the brewery's beers. Approx. 2000 hectoliters are brewed per year.

history

The name Pflugbrauerei first appeared in 1681, when Jakob Stammler founded the wheat beer brewery zum Pflug in Hörvelsingen. In 1752 he handed the business over to his son Hans Stammler, who continued to run it under the same name until 1799. After that, Balthasar Schleicher came to the brewery, which is now only called the plow . This was continued from 1850 to 1863 by his son Martin Schleicher. The brewery then passed into the ownership of Michael Unseld under the same name, who ran the brewery until it was taken over by Martin Gnann in 1893. Since then, the Gnann family has owned the brewery and is still brewing beer in accordance with the Purity Law in the fifth generation .

In response to stricter EU hygiene directives and to increase the shelf life of naturally cloudy beers, the brewery (as of 2014) has its bottled beers bottled in a modern facility in Aalen , while draft beer is still bottled in Hörvelsingen.

The brewery's advertising slogan is “Above all, remember, good beer from Hörvelsingen”.

distribution

The Hörvelsingen plow brewery takes part in the small brewery market on the southern Münsterplatz in Ulm every year. In addition, various events, festivals and private individuals are supplied with their own drinks home delivery service in the region.
